HyprWallpaperEngine

A port of wallpaper engine made for hyprland on linux.

• Requires that wallpaper engine on steam is installed at ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/wallpaper_engine
• Automatically adds required lines to hyprland.conf when selecting a wallpaper for autostart

Supports:

• Video
• Web
• Scene 2D (Very Basic, likely to break)
• Mouse interaction

Credits:

• RePKG for wallpaper engine package extraction tool.
• wl-find-cursor for global cursor position.

It is assumed hyprland is already installed and configured.

Installation (Arch Linux)

Install dependencies: sudo pacman -S python3 python-pip mpvpaper ffmpeg wine | yay -S mpvpaper

Clone repository

cd ~
git clone https://gitlab.bracketproto.com/BracketProto/hyprwallpaperengine

Install python dependencies

cd ~/hyprwallpaperengine/
pip install inquirerpy 

Running & Usage

Run using python3 ./Main.py [mpv arguments] to open up wallpaper selection menu or python3 ./Main.py [steamid] [mpv arguments] to select a specific wallpaper via steam id

Flags

• --web - Forces video to run as a 'web' wallpaper (uses chromium instead of mpvpaper)
• --muted - Forces a wallpaper to run as muted
• --volume=[value] Forces a web wallpaper to use a specific volume on play
